No Explosives Found on Vans in Alleged UK Base Attack

No explosives were discovered on the three vans stopped on Sunday in connection with the alleged attack plan near the UK's RAF Fairford airbase, which is also used by the United States in its operations against Iran.

This was reported by the Mirror among others, following anonymous sources confirming no functional explosives were found.

The news comes amidst a backdrop of uncertainty and contradictions regarding the incident, and follows the release on bail of all five British citizens, aged between 23 and 25, who were arrested for allegedly "planning a terrorist attack" just the day before.

The US Secretary of State commented on the events to Fox News, stating: "What could have happened in the UK over the weekend is a very serious matter. It clearly involves the hand of a foreign actor." Rubio suggested that the thwarted terrorist plot "could have been and was, I believe, a very serious threat."
